A member of the pro-independence Papuan group, the West Papua National Committee, or KNPB, died on Tuesday two days after being beaten by members of the Indonesian security forces.

Klismon Woi died in the regional hospital in Pak-Pak in West Papua.

A colleague, one of the KNPB's leaders, Paul Horis, was killed at the weekend.

They are the latest deaths in a crackdown on the group which began in June with the shooting of the KNPB's deputy chair Mako Tabuni.
