A refugee campaigner says there are reports from Nauru that the Iranian asylum seeker on his 36th day of a hunger strike has been shifted from the camp to a hospital.
Ian Rintoul of the Refugee Action Coalition says Omid was moved from the camp yesterday afternoon after he began excreting blood.
Mr Rintoul says concerns over Omid's welfare has raised tensions in the Nauru camp.
He says they are gravely concerned for Omid, and are urging the Australian Immigration Minister to urgently intervene.
Ian Rintoul says Omid may have already suffered permanent organ damage.
