The pilot of the Star Marianas plane that crashed yesterday morning on Saipan, kiling one passenger and injuring five others, is reportedly in a stable condition.

Commonwealth Health Center officials said 26-year-old Korean national Jae Choi is awake and responding to treatment, and would be flown immediately to a Manila hospital for further treatment.

The pilot was admitted yesterday and was the only victim in critical condition as of last night due to face and skull fractures sustained in the accident.

A female Chinese tourist was killed in the crash.

The four other Chinese nationals who were injured in the accident have been declared stable since noon Monday and are still confined at the hospital's surgery unit.
