The American Samoa Chamber of Commerce and the government have signed an agreement with the Indonesian government to embark on new business ventures.

The parties have been in discussions in Indonesia, as a follow up from a meeting in American Samoa last month.

During the visit to Indonesia, an agreement was signed for a sister city arrangement between the capital of north Sulawesi - Manado, and American Samoa.

The Chamber of Commerce President David Robinson says the agreement will lead to trade and investment opportunities for members of the Chamber, particularly in fishery diversification.

"We've looked at the Indonesias supplying crews for our tuna vessels and deck hands, fishermen and even engineers and perhaps captains."

David Robinson says there will also be opportunities in tourism, e-commerce, manufacturing, and trading in agricultural products.
