American Samoa's chief election officer has certified the gubernatorial run-off race after no one filed a challenge with the High Court.
Soliai Tuipine Fuimaono issued a notice late yesterday saying the deadline for contesting the results of the 20th of November run-off election has expired, therefore the results are now official.
He says Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lemanu Peleti Sialega Mauga are the elected governor and lieutenant governor of the territory and shall serve for a term beginning on the 3rd of January, 2013 and ending on the 3rd of January 2017.
The next step now is for the Lolo and Lemanu team to set the programme for the inauguration, and the work of the transition team to proceed forward.
