Samoa to launch first Pearl of Pacific exhibition in Germany

2:58 pm on 29 November 2012

An exhibition featuring Samoa's shared history with Germany will open on Friday at the museum of Ethnology in Hamburg.

Samoa was a German Protectorate from 1900 to 1914.

The Pearl of the Pacific exhibition is also part of Samoa's 50 years of independence celebrations and will be opened by Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi.

The prime minister will then travel to Doha, in Qatar, to attend the climate change talks.

Meanwhile, Tuilaepa's state visit to Israel, which was scheduled for earlier this month, was postponed due to security concerns over the clashes between Israel and Hamas.
