All director positions in the American Samoa Government have now been advertised, an unprecedented move in an administration changeover.
Governor-elect Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lieutenant Governor-elect Lemanu Peleti Mauga promised during their campaign that if elected they will provide equal access to all government jobs.
They have carried out that promise by advertising in local media all director positions, which are political appointments, not subject to government personnel rules.
The deadline to apply for the director positions is the 15th of December.
Governor-elect Lolo says a committee will vet the applications and make recommendations to the governor and lieutenant governor who make the final decision.
All directors require confirmation by the Fono.
