Fiji's regime says more than half a million people are now registered for the proposed 2014 elections.
Fiji Village reports the Attorney General and Minister for Elections, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, as saying 80 percent of eligible voters are now registered.
Just over 487,000 people were registered in the first phase while about 17,300 have been registered in the second phase, with some figures yet to be received by some areas.
The next phase of the registration process will also focus on registration of Fijians living abroad.
Just over 100,000 people are yet to be registered as the estimated number of eligible voters stands at about 620,000.
