The Samoa Power Corporation says the low supply of water to the hydropower stations is one of the major causes of regular power supply interruptions on Upolu recently.

The Corporation says the prolonged dry season has impacted on the hydro-station for power causing the diesel generators at Tanugamnono power station to overwork.

Meanwhile the corporation says the other reasons to power interruptions are car accidents, strong lightning as well as power lines damaged by construction work.

The public and several businesses in the town area have raised concerns over the unreliable service from the country's only power supplier.
