American Samoa business group keen to engage with government

There is a call for the American Samoa Chamber of Commerce's new executive board to quickly engage with the government to define the clear role of its business association.

The call comes after the out-going Togiola administration treated the group as an enemy of the government.

During the general membership meeting, out-going chairman David Robinson says the current administration is not keen on working with the private sector.

Mr Robinson says the out-going administration is guilty of not engaging the private sector through the Chamber, which has something to offer in the development of the territory.

He says he hopes this will change when the new administration takes over in January next year.
