The good times keep on coming for Fiji Hockey after the men's and women's teams both won their World League gold medal playoffs in Suva.

The Fiji women outclassed Papua New Guinea 4-0 in the final, with the men even more dominant in a 14-0 triumph over PNG.

The Samoa women's team beat Vanuatu in extra time to finish third.

It comes less than 48 hours after both team's qualified through to the World League Round 2 tournament in India in February.

The coach of the Fiji men's hockey team, Hector Smith, says the opposition in New Delhi will be a big step up in quality, so his team will have to prepare well.

"It was brought to our attention that we will be getting a high performance coach sometime in January to come and guide us, more as a technical advisor, and there's a name such as [former Australia international] Brent Livermore being floated to us, and we need any expertise at all. If we have to take hard knocks we want to see how far we really can go and it will be a good gauge for us to know what we have to do, in addition, that the big boys are doing at the moment."

The Fiji men's and women's teams will both contest the Oceania Pacific Cup finals against Australia Country this afternoon.
