Stolen new Fiji bank notes found in circulation

Fiji police say 50,000 dollars worth of new bank notes have been stolen from a Suva bank.

Fijivillage reports that the theft was reported to police last Sunday after three of the new look 100 dollar bills were used at three supermarkets in the Southern Division.

Police have ascertained that the new notes have also been used in other parts of the country.

The new notes are not due to come into circulation until next week.
