A crew member of the Samoa government owned inter-island ferry MV Lady Naomi is in police custody in American Samoa.
The 25-year old man was taken into custody when the vessel docked in Pago Pago this morning.
A government official says the sailor is alleged to have committed rape before the vessel arrived in Pago Pago.
