Solomon Islands police investigators will be sent to the Weathercoast of Guadalcanal this week to carry out further inquires into the burning down of a police post.
Four people have been listed as prime suspects in the recent burning down of the police post in the Mbabanakira area.
Deputy Police Commissioner Walter Kola told the Solomon Star the team will also be in consultations with locals and elders within the area to try and address long standing issues.
Locals had warned the police they were not welcomed in the area until they addressed long standing ethinic tension issues with the people.
Mr Kola also adds community and church leaders in the area have been cooperative with their investigations.
