Samoa remains on alert this morning as tropical cyclone Garry tracks north east of the country.
This morning the cyclone was located 131 nautical miles north east of Apia.
Assistant CEO for Meteorology Division, Mulipola Ausetalia Titimaea says on its current track, Samoa looks to avoid a direct hit but warnings remain in force.
"So that's good news for us, but it could make a south western path as I have mentioned and it could head our way again, as we experienced with Evan, all predictions with Evan was a south west path, but it made a north west path instead."
Mulipola Ausetalia Titimaea says the cyclone is still a category one storm, but it is still expected to intensify in the next 24 hours.
