It's been two years since villages from Iliili to Leloaloa in American Samoa have been forced boil water before use.
Families, school children and businesses in the area have had to buy bottled water for drinking and boil tap water for cooking and washing dishes.
This is because samples from water wells supplying these villages showed contamination.
The ban has stayed in place while the local utility, the American Samoa Power Authority, has raised rates for residential and commercial customers.
ASPA's executive director, Utu Abe Malae, admits their failure to do something about the contamination is not good enough.
"We are going to speed that up, fixing that problem because we want the people to drink the water without fear that it is contaminated."
