Sport: Samoa's Su'a keen to contribute in Super Rugby debut

New Crusaders halfback Jeremy Su'a says he's slowly getting used to rubbing shoulders with the likes of All Black regulars Dan Carter and Kieran Read on a daily basis.

The 24 year old was recruited by Crusaders boss Todd Blackadder after impressing for Tasman during last year's New Zealand provincial championship and was a part of Manu Samoa's 2011 Rugby World Cup squad.

Su'a says with a former All Black Andy Ellis also in the team his immediate goal is just to make the match-day 22, but he likes to think he has something to offer.

"I like to exploit the running options and it just isn't my game to just pass, although that's the primary role of the halfback. I guess it's a little different to the halfbacks in the Crusaders at the moment but that's just my style of play, and I guess that's what attracted Toddy, so to have different kinds of halfbacks in the team gives them a variety of options."

The Crusaders play their final pre season match against the Waratahs in Sydney this weekend.
