Man arrested in Guam stabbing case

Police in Guam say they have arrested a man in connection with a mass stabbing in the tourist area of Tumon that left two people dead and 12 others injured.

A spokesperson, Albert Balajadia, says 21-year-old Chad Ryan Desoto of Tamuning has been charged with two counts of murder, 13 counts of attempted murder and 13 counts of aggravated assault.

Mr Balajadia says 13 of the victims were tourists, 10 of them from Japan.

He says one local person was also injured.

The Pacific Daily News says at least two of the injured are babies, while a Guam Memorial Hospital spokesperson says the victims' ages range from eight months to 82.
