American Samoa's power company brings down service charge

Several residents were pleasantly surprised when they only had to pay a $2 US dollar service charge for purchasing power credits outside business hours from the American Samoa Power Authority.

The service fee is usually $5.

Two customers who bought power credits yesterday said they were thrilled to see the reduced fee.

ASPA director Utu Abe Malae said that the board of directors met and directed management to find a way to lower the $5 service fee for after hour vending.
