A couple of animal lovers have combined their air points to fly a pair of veterinarians from Hawaii to help spay and neuter dogs in American Samoa.
Nicholas and Mona King, who are the co-founders of the group Alofa Mo Mealola, or Love for Animals, say the vets are helping the Deparment of Agriculture at a clinic that is open until March the fourth.
Ms King says the clinic has already desexed just under 200 dogs, who have at the same time been officially registered.
She says the organisation's goal is to help the Department provide a much needed service for the territory's animals.
"I feel that that's important so if they ever to go around and get rid of all the animals again then some animals will have their licence because they have been spayed or neutered. And one of our goals is to gather the dogs and try to take care of their needs and try to help out the Department of Agriculture where they need help to get that done."
Mona King says the organisation is planning another clinic in April.
