Local business Tatuta Mo Oe has presented a check for US$60,000 to the Marist Pago Sports Club to sponsor next month's international sevens tournament in American Samoa.

The event will feature at least 24 teams, including 10 from the territory and visiting squads from Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

Marist Vice President Aomalo Manupo Turituri acknowledged the support of the chairman of the American Samoa Rugby Union Togiola Tulafono and President Aumoeualogo Te'o Fuavai in making the tournament possible, and especially to the Gaisoa family for their generous donation.

"It would not be possible without their willingness to sponsor the international sevens for a second time in two years. All the leg-work has been done by the Marist Association and hopefully we will end up with something that everybody will be proud of."
