The Fiji Warriors are anticipating a big step-up in quality for Tuesday night's Pacific Rugby Cup clash with the Rebels in Melbourne.

The Warriors begun their title defence with a 24-17 victory over the Brisbane Academy last week, after their first game against the Junior Waratahs was called of.

Head coach Inoke Male says with the Rebels Super Rugby team having the bye this weekend, they expect a few of their high profile players will be keen for a run.

"They will be fielding some of their senior players. Hopefully it will be a good game and a fast game. They've been playing in the Super 15 so they will be trying their combinations against us because they have the bye this week. It will be a good test for the boys after the game against the Reds."

Also on Tuesday, the Sydney Academy host Tonga A, the Western Force meet Samoa A, while the Japan Juniors make their PRC debut against the Brisbane Academy.
