The Solomon Islands Government has promised to continue knocking on the doors of the United Nations until they are opened to Taiwan.

Foreign Minister Clay Forau made the vow during a dinner marking 30 years of diplomatic links with Taiwan.

The Solomons is one of six Pacific nations that support Taiwan.

Mr Forau says they will continue to lobby for Taiwan's admission to the UN.

He says the path may be long, but the Solomons will remain firm and steadfast in its support for Taiwan.
