Striking Solomon Islands teachers threaten to march on Parliament

7:41 pm on 4 April 2013

Government officials met with the Solomon Islands Nationa Teachers Association, SINTA, today in an effort to end a teachers strike that's been going on for two weeks.

The Solomon Star reports that association members met in Honiara earlier this week and vowed not to heed a government warning for teachers to return to schools.

The teachers also decided that they would march on Parliament if a solution to the strike was not reached at the meeting.
