Outgoing captain Joe Rika says it's about time Fiji begin climing the world cricket ladder once again.
The Blues are in Botswana to compete in the World Cricket League 7 tournament, which begins today.
The top two teams will earn promotion to Division 6, while the others will stay in limbo until the ICC reveals how it plans to restructure the development leagues.
Rika, who will retire from internationals at the end of tournament, says Fiji have some catching up to do.
"We've come down four different divisions in the last five years which has been very disappointing for Fiji Cricket, seeing what it has been in the past. We now have the most experienced side that has ever taken part in the last five years. Alot of expectations on this side from people back at home and we understand that if we do play our best cricket we definitely can come on top but we've just got to stick to our strengths and hopefully, at the end of the day, we will come away with the victory."
Fiji's first match is against Nigeria later today.
