Samoa Tourism keen to set up centre in China

The Samoa Tourism Authority is looking to set up a tourism centre in China.

The Authority's Marketing Manager, Dwayne Bentley, says China is sending big contingents of tourists to Samoa.

He says since China is one of the biggest tourism operators in the world it makes sense to have one there, as tourism centres attract tourists via cultural displays, arts and crafts, entertainment and cooking displays.

Samoa has four tourism centres overseas in Los Angeles, London, New Zealand and Australia.

One of China's bigger tourism companies, the Exhibition Tourism Group, is set to invest in a casino resort hotel in Samoa.
