Saipan in the Northern Marianas has been listed as a leading port of entry into the United States for high-spending Chinese travelers.

The Travel Retail Business magazine ranked Saipan as number 11, given its air services to Guangzhou and Shanghai.

The CNMI is the only US territory included on the list.

The other ports were mostly airports on the US mainland, with Los Angeles at the top, followed by Vancouver in Canada and San Francisco.

Saipan was voted as the best destination for families by Asiana Airlines cabin crew members this month, and the most popular island destination during an award ceremony organised by a popular Beijing-based lifestyle magazine in China in December.
