Fiji's Prime Minister Commodore Bainimarama has called on the private sector in both Fiji and Papua New Guinea to work closely with each other in an effort to boost investment opportunities.

At the opening of the 2013 Trade and Investment Seminar in Papua New Guinea, Commodore Bainimarama said that Fiji and PNG are now driving the MSG Trade Agreement towards the first fully fledged Free Trade Area in the region.

Fiji Villiage reports the Prime Minister as saying by creating stronger trade and economic links between the two countries, they are laying the foundation for a new era of trade and economic development and cooperation within the Melanesia Spearhead Group.

Commodore Bainimarama also said they are upgrading information technology systems to introduce a portal for E-Services which will enable most government services to go online.
