In Fiji, the MV Lau Trader ship remains berthed at Suva port due to some navigational equipment worth over 45,000 US dollars being removed and not replaced.

This is according to Lau Shipping Company Limited Director Viliame Cavubati who claims the former chief engineer removed the equipment from the ship which included a radar, the global positioning system and radio.

The vessel has now been out of operation for four months, and people in the Lau group say they have run out of supplies.

The Police Southern Commanding Officer Tevita Waqabaca told Fiji Village online that both parties have met and agreed to seek a court order to have the ship back in operation.
