Sport: Fiji sevens coach believes season has been a success

Fiji sevens captain Setefano Cakau believes their season has still been a success irrespective of what happens over the next two weeks.

Fiji opened the World Series by defending their title on the Gold Coast and they also went back to back in Hong Kong, becoming the first team this season to win two tournaments.

Consistency has been a problem though and Setefano Cakau says they desperately want to finish on a positive note.

"We come second last year and everybody wants to beat each other. Our main target is to be first and I know that it didn't work well and for us getting to the second place I know it will be a big job for us. And we know that Samoa really did well and want to be at the second place but for us I know we will work hard in reaching the second place after the weekend."

The Glasgow tournament kicks off tonight with Fiji in the same pool as Australia, Argentina and Spain, while Samoa will face South Africa, Kenya and Canada.
