10:19 am on 6 May 2013

An all-New Zealand grand final is on the cards after decisive wins for Auckland City and Waitakere United in the Oceania Champions League at the weekend.

City have taken a massive stride toward their third consecutive O-League final thrashing nine man Ba 6-1 in their first leg semi-final at Kiwitea Street on Saturday.

The match was locked at one goal a piece when Avinesh Suwamy was sent from the field in the 43rd minute for receiving a second yellow card, with Ba coach Yogendra Dutt also ordered from the sideline moments later.

Auckland's took a decisive lead just after the hour mark before Meli Codro was shown a straight red card, leaving the visitors to play the last 25 minutes with just nine men.

City then took full advantage, piling on another four goals to win 6-1 and give them a massive buffer ahead of the return leg at Govind Park this Saturday.

Meanwhile a first half double to Fiji international Roy Krishna gave New Zealand champions Waitakere United a vital 2-0 first leg triumph against Vanuatu's Amicale FC in Port Vila.

Waitakere will host the second leg on Sunday.
