The Governor General in Solomon Islands has sworn in Juanita Matangi as the country's acting police commissioner.
She replaces Englishman, John Lansley, whose one year contract was not extended and lapsed on Monday.
Ms Matangi had previously stood in while Mr Lansley has been on leve.
