Sport: Fijian champs face 'impossible' task to reach O-League final

11:13 am on 8 May 2013

Ba football President Rishikendra Kumar says the Fijian champions will have to achieve the impossible to qualify for the Oceania Champions League grand final.

Nine-man Ba were thumped 6-1 by defending champions Auckland City at the weekend, in their semi final, first leg clash in New Zealand.

The second leg is at Govind Park this Saturday and Rishikendra Kumar says his players will be up against it.

"All I can say, I'm pretty confident we can beat Auckland City but if we're talking about those five goals to be honest it's impossible, impossible to score five goals. But then again, if you break the word impossible, if you spell the first two letters of impossible it says 'I Am Possible so impossible tastes good so lets see what happens on Saturday."

In the other semi final, Waitakere United will go into Sunday's second leg home tie against Vanuatu champs Amicale FC with a 2-0 lead.
