The Department of Public Safety in American Samoa is conducting 911 and police dispatch in-service training after a woman's distress call did not go through to emergency services.

The woman was later found dead in her Tafuna home.

A 911 call did go through the police dispatcher who then relayed it to Emergency Medical Services but hung up before the connection was made.
