Faamaoni Lalomilo's reign as coach the Samoa sevens team appears over after he was relieved of his duties for next month's Sevens World Cup.
The Rugby Union has recalled former sevens coach Stephen Betham who will take a break from his role as Manu Samoa head coach to lead the team in Moscow.
It is understood Lalomilo will not be a part of the coaching staff in Moscow and, our correspondent in Apia, Autagavaia Tipi Autagavaia says his long-term fate is still up in the air.
"The chairman did not say what was going to happen to the current coach and the management of the sevens team. All he said was to recall Stephen Betham to lead this team for the Moscow Sevens but, you know, it's a big disappointment for Faamaoni Lalomilo.He was the underdog coach during Stephen Betham's time as the head coach of the sevens team [and] unfortunately things didn't come out to expectations."
