7:51 pm on 24 June 2013

The Fiji Corrections service has adopted an HIV/AIDS policy which will allow prison inmates and officers access to HIV testing, treatment, care and support.

Fiji Village reports the Corrections Commissioner, Lieutenant Colonel Ifereimi Vasu saying the nature of the work at Corrections and daily interaction with inmates demands such a policy be in place.

He says the Corrections Services is proud to be the first correctional institution in the region and the first in the Fiji disciplined forces to adopt the policy.
