The police in Samoa have accepted a request from the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture to withdraw the criminal investigation and charges against five primary school principals.
The group were sacked for allegedly using 7 and-a-half thousand US dollars of school fees aid money from the governments of New Zealand and Australia.
The acting police commissioner, Fauono Talalelei Tapu says he has been told the matter has now been withdrawn.
This has also been confirmed by the CEO of the Ministry of Education, Matafeo Falana'ipupu Tanielu Aiafi, who added that losing their jobs, as well having to repay the money in full should be enough punishment for the group.
He also says the former head teachers from Upolu island will not receive any monies for long service or any other benefits.
