Samoa principal charged with student assault

The police in Samoa have charged a primary school principal with assaulting a student and say she could face more charges.

The head teacher of Safa'ato'a Lefaga primary school has been suspended on full pay and is on bail awaiting a court appearance next Tuesday.

She is alleged to have assaulted a student before instructing others to dip the student's head in a toilet bowl.

An internal and police investigations are continuing.
