Municipal police in New Caledonia have gone on strike.
Local media reports say the officers have taken the action in a bid to force the transfer of their boss, Johann Gognetti.
The striking officers are outside the public sector's human resources office.
They also demand an end to what they call abusive disciplinary procedures and a return to a true dialogue.
The strike is to end by mid-afternoon.
