A executive with a Chinese firm has been escorted out of Fiji after allegedly fleeing there with millions of dollars of company money.

Xinhua reports the former general manager of Shanghai Fanxin Insurance Agency, Chen Yi, is suspected of stealing 81 million US dollars from the company.

China's Ministry of Public Security asked for international law enforcement forces for help and found Ms Chen in Fiji.

The report says the ministry sent a work team to Fiji and seized her in cooperation with the Fiji police.
