The American Samoa governor, Lolo Matalasi Moliga, has ordered all flags in the territory to be flown at half-staff for two days in honour of the late senator Su'a Vaiuli Matautia.

Su'a passed away in Honolulu last month at the age of 72.

The late senator's remains returned to the territory last Friday and two days of funeral service has been started with a state service at the Legislature compound.

In ordering flags to be flown at half-staff, the governor says this is in remembrance of Senator Sua's outstanding public service and his dedication to building and leading the territory.

Lolo says Sua's service to his government and people will long be remembered
