There are now about 300 people at the Australian run detention camp for asylum seekers at Manus Island in Papua New Guinea after more people were moved there today.

Australia transported another 40 men to the camp this morning, taking to 277 the number moved from Christmas Island under the new so called PNG Solution over the past 3 weeks.

Today's group included 37 Iranians and 3 Lebanese.

Australia wants to continue expanding the Manus Island centre and says it is working with the PNG government to find other sites in PNG.
