Papua New Guinea remain undefeated at the Asia Pacific Rising Stars Cricket Trophy in Queensland, after victories over Combined Armed Forces & Australia Indigenous XI.

The Combined Armed Forces were dismissed for just 98, with Greg Baeau and Raymond Haoda snaring seven wickets between them, before an unbeaten 48 from Andrew Hicks helped the Barras reach their target in the 17th over with seven wickets in hand.

In the later match, the Indigenous XI managed 110 for 8 from their 20 overs with Andrew Hicks, Mahura Dai and Pipi Raho each picking up two wickets.

A refreshed Assad Vala whacked four massive sixes as his 52 from 42 balls guided PNG to their total with four wickets to spare.

"I had a rest in the morning which was great for me [and] had a good day in the second game so pretty happy with that. In the batting we talked about partnership, partnerships and rotating the strike. We needed a lot more boundaries so we tried to rotate the strike more."

The East Asia Pacific team picked up a win and a loss on day two of the quad series.

The composite team were bowled out for 106 in their first match of the day against the Australian Indigenous team, chasing 148, with Lega Siaka top-scoring with 37 and Vanuatu's Niko Unavalu picking up four wickets.

In the afternoon they bounced back to beat the Combined Arm Forces by 21 runs.
