Pacific swimmers completed their World Championships campaign over the weekend with more personal best performances in Barcelona.

Guam's Pilar Shimizu was the best placed Pacific swimmer in the 50 metres freestyle heats, shaving more than half a second off her qualifying time as she clocked 28.14 to edge Tonga's Irene Prescott, who set a new personal best time.

The Marshall Islands teenager Colleen Furgeson also collected a personal best after touching home in 34.48 seconds.

The 17 year old Shimizu backed up her freestyle effort less than half an hour later, touching home in 34.20 seconds in the 50 metres breastroke, ahead of Papua New Guinea's Tegan McCarthy who recorded a new personal best.
