150 charged in Tonga in relation to student clash

150 people have been charged in relation to this month's clash involving students from two rival colleges in Tonga.

The Matangi Tonga website reports 147 students from Tupou College and three adults, have been charged in relation to the violent attack at a home in Tofoa nearly two weeks ago.

A new charge of unlawful assembly has been filed against each of the accused who have all been released on bail until October.

The Deputy Police Commissioner 'Unga Fa'aoa says they had also been charged with conspiracy to commit willful damage.

The website reports the 22 accused who were held in police custody have been released on bail and face various charges including trespassing, housebreaking and causing grievous bodily harm.

The three adults are also facing charges of aiding criminal damage.
