Russia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has approached French Polynesia with an offer to invest in waste treatment.
Tahiti-Infos has published a letter by a representative of the oil giant Lukoil, proposing roundtable discussions in Tahiti before the end of this year.
The letter to the president of the territorial government points to expertise in recycling industrial waste and solid municipal waste.
The previous government had also been contacted by the same Russian company.
