Australian immigration minister visits Nauru camps after riot

Australia's immigration minister, Tony Burke, is visiting the two Australian-run asylum seeker detention camps on Nauru today.

Mr Burke yesterday briefly visited the camp on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea.

He announced there was plenty of room there to accommodate many more asylum seekers.

Manus is nearly empty after Australia thoughout this week has transferred about 200 asylum seekers to camps within Australia to free up capacity for would be refugees under its newly announced policy.
