American Samoa senator and high talking chief, Sua Vaiuli Mata'utia, of Afono, died in Hawaii yesterday.
His daughter Epi Timo says the 72-year-old had lung cancer.
The first term senator is the second senator to die this year - Senator Fa'agata Mano passed away last month.
