The district court in Samoa has convicted a member of parliament, Toesulusulu Cedric Schuster, on five charges relating to last year's road blockade at Satapuala village.
The MP was found guilty of unlawful assembly, insulting words, resisting and obstruction of police.
Seven others from the village, including an orator, Vaili Mimita, and a high-ranking chief who is an uncle of the MP, Muagututi'a Leao Akeripa To'alepaialii ,have also found guilty of the same charges.
However all charges against ten other villagers have been dismissed.
The presiding judge, Vaepule Vaemoa Vaai, says his written decision with the details will be available on Monday.
Outside the court, the MP said he respected the decision but was waiting for the next move on August the 5th when they will be sentenced.
