A Chinese man, believed to be the main suspect in a drug ring, has been taken back to China after being arrested on his arrival in Fiji last week.

He has been on the run for six years.

The Xinhua news agency reports the Chinese Ministry of Public Security saying that Chen Guoming, a native of Guangzhou, had fled China after police busted a drug processing factory in 2006.

The ministry reports that during the raid more than 400 kilogrammes of methamphetamine was found and 8 people were arrested.

The ministry has been hunting the man, with international help, for the past two years.

It says it got a tip-off that Mr Chen was planning a trip to Fiji and in cooperation with Fiji police and immigration officials he was caught on July the 4th and taken back to China two days later.
